Tai Chi for Health & Wellness
Beth Ruggeri, PT. Certified Tai Chi Instructor for Arthritis, Diabetes & Osteoporosis
Tai Chi for Arthritis, for Osteoporosis and for Diabetes offers slow, gentle movements with awareness and deep breathing. This practice requires simply an open mind, open space and perhaps a chair. The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine recognizes the benefits of Tai Chi. The “movement meditation” of Tai Chi is a mind-body practice taken from the ancient Eastern martial art forms.
“Tai Chi is a great form of exercise, especially for those with osteoarthritis. It can help you building your leg muscles, strengthen your posture, and improve your balance, flexibility, and mobility. It can also teach you to relax and focus, even while executing the movies, and is a way to harmonize the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.” Andrew Weil, M.D., Good Morning E-mail newsletter, July 9, 2003.
Come join us in the “movement meditation” of Tai Chi and see for yourself what benefits can be had!
